Handling the complexities of decentralisation

Back when Vega was transitioning from an idea to a plan, we had a few questions to answer for ourselves, and eventually for everyone else.

Could we build a decentralised exchange that provides a safe venue for trading?

Could it be fast enough to be an economically viable proposition for traders and market makers?

Is it possible to do the entire trade lifecycle, including order placement, determination of price levels, risk management calculations, and settlement without a central authority?

It’s probably no surprise that our answer is “obviously”, or I wouldn’t be posting this right now. But to get the full story of how we went about answering those questions, you’ll just have to read the blog. Are there any complexities that you don’t think we’ve addressed yet?
